Civil servant
Definition
A civil servant (Beamter) is insured not under ASVG but under the B-KUVG via the BVAEB. Instead of ASVG pension insurance a separate pension law applies with a pension contribution, and there is usually no or only reduced unemployment insurance because the post is especially secure.
In the calculator
The civil servant is modelled as its own employment type in the gross-to-net calculator: B-KUVG health insurance, a pension contribution instead of the ASVG pension, and no unemployment insurance. The calculator uses a disclosed service-law cohort (tenured under PG 1965) and shows net pay, not the state's employer cost. That is why the civil servant is not in the employer-cost calculator.
