What your result means
Notes · updated liveThe four special payments of your Ruhebezug, 50 % each in March, June, September and December, are taxed at just 6 % under the §67 special-payment rule (after the allowance), far below the regular tariff.
From January 2027 pensions rise: 2.95 % up to €6,930.00, + €204.44 above €6,930.00. Your gross pension goes up by €64.87 to €2,263.87. Under the 2027 rules that leaves €1,965.26 net a month, €51.85 more than now. If you only retired in 2026, the first adjustment is just 50 % of the increase, so €32.44 more gross on your pension. The pension increase guide shows the net at every pension level.
With the 2026 pension adjustment your pension rose from €2,141.19 to €2,199.00 gross a month; net it rose by €550 a year. Prices rose 3.20% (provisional), so in real terms your net pension loses €293 a year. The line shows the same pension since 2016, stepped back through each adjustment, including one-off payments such as those of 2022 and 2023, in 2026 euros. The pension increase guide shows how pensions and prices have moved since 2002.
If you are married or in a registered partnership for more than six months of the year and your partner earns at most €2,720 a year, you are entitled to the increased pensioner tax credit of up to €1,502. On your pension that is €64.18 more net a month. You can set it under "Adjust".

How your gross pension becomes your net pension
Two contributions are deducted from a federal civil servant's Ruhebezug: health insurance under the B-KUVG (6 % since 1 June 2025, 4.9 % before) and the Pensionssicherungsbeitrag under § 13a Pensionsgesetz. Its rate depends on the year the Ruhebezug began: 2.1 % before 1999, a little less each year after, plus 1 % since 2004; for a Ruhebezug from 2020 it usually does not apply at all. Both also apply to the special payments.
Wage tax follows the income-tax tariff, after both contributions. As with any pension you get the pensioner tax credit, not the flat expense allowance. Instead of a 13th and 14th pension there are four special payments of 50 % each in March, June, September and December, taxed favourably like special payments. The table combines them into two half-year columns.
Gross pensions in Austria per month. Your pension is about the 2026 (forecast) median of €2,199. By the forecast, the middle half lies between €1,352 and €3,256. Figures from 2025 are a forecast (shaded in the chart): the published 2024 values carried forward with the statutory pension adjustment. The actual median has so far risen a little faster every year, because new pensions are higher.
